Introducing The African Healthcare Funders Forum: Fireside Chat 1

A consortium of funders and innovators dedicated to accelerating access to healthcare in Africa

AVPA, Ashoka, and Social Innovation Circle, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim through their “Making More Health” and Boehringer Ingelheim Social Engagement initiatives, are joining forces to launch the African Healthcare Funders Forum, a first-of-its-kind year-long gathering of Africa’s leading funders and entrepreneurs to drive the transformation of the African healthcare sector.

The forum is open to healthcare innovators and all funders - grants, debt, or equity - actively deploying or planning to deploy capital into the African healthcare sector.

About the Forum

• Launches with the Impact Leadership Programme in September
• Will include Communities of Practice for like-minded professionals (funders and innovators) to network and learn
• Forum members will enjoy access to a knowledge hub, site visits, pitch events, AVPA Deal Share Platform, etc.

About the Impact Leadership Programme

• A three-month ‘Learning Journey’ comprising 12 expert-led webinars, each lasting 90 minutes.
• Will include healthcare venture founders specially selected and invited by Ashoka and Boehringer Ingelheim
• Graduates will be recognized as African Impact Leaders
