Alice is passionate about gender equality and social justice in Uganda. She is the founder of The Association for the Rehabilitation and Re-orientation of Women for Development (TERREWODE) a non-government organisation which aims to empower women and girls to create improved livelihoods. In 2019 Terrewode Women’s Community Hospital opened as a site for comprehensive childbirth injury prevention, advocacy, treatment and rehabilitation programs. In 2007 Alice received an award for Reporting on Population and Development issues, and Economic and SRHR of rural women and girls, and in 2020 she won the Golden Jubilee Award- for Women and Girl Child Empowerment, from the Government of Uganda.
