Conference Overview

To strengthen the African Impact ecosystem and mark six years of enabling social investment in Africa, AVPA hosted its inaugural signature convening, the 2024 AVPA Conference, from 4th to 6th November 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya. Themed ‘Catalysing Africa’s Sustainable Growth,’ this three-day gathering proved to be a transformative experience, uniting a diverse tapestry of stakeholders across the continent’s Impact ecosystem to forge new connections and share learnings that accelerated development progress.

Recognising the critical challenge of mobilising finance for sustainable growth in Africa, the event convened pivotal actors across Africa’s Impact investment landscape—including capital providers, ecosystem enablers, policymakers, and demand-side stakeholders. The goal was to facilitate synergistic dialogue that explored current advancements and scoped out future pathways for creating a conducive environment where finance was not only available but optimally impactful toward sustainable growth.

The conference fostered meaningful connections and collaborations through a curated programme of engaging discussions, practical workshops, masterclasses, and immersive field visits, complemented by structured networking opportunities. These interactions spotlighted innovative financing and sustainability strategies while exploring the use of catalytic capital to drive tangible Impact across the continent.
