AVPA and Impact Frontiers are proud to launch the co-branded Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) Fellowship, an intensive 8-session programme tailored for mid-to-senior professionals across Africa’s social investment ecosystem.
What will you work on?
Across 8 sessions, you’ll move from the foundations of IMM to practical application in your own organisation. You’ll explore:
01 | Locate your IMM practice
Assess where you are today, understand your stakeholders and identify opportunities to strengthen your practice.
02 | Apply the Five Dimensions of Impact
Explore What, Who, How Much, Contribution and Risk and use them to strengthen how you think about impact.
03 | Strengthen your indicators
Learn how to move from impact goals to meaningful indicators and distinguish between indicators, targets and thresholds.
04 | Understand contribution, evidence and risk
Explore what credible evidence looks like and how to think about your contribution to change.
05 | Embed IMM into investment decisions
Understand how investors can integrate IMM across strategy, due diligence, portfolio management and exit.
06 | Improve impact reporting
Use the Impact Performance Reporting Norms to assess your current reporting practice, identify gaps and determine how to move forward.
07 | Turn evidence into learning
Explore how evidence and data can strengthen internal decision-making, resource allocation and organisational learning.
08 | Turn learning into action
Bring everything together and develop a practical case for strengthening your IMM practice over the next 3–6 months.
This is practical by design.
Each session combines concepts, group work, self-assessment and practical application, with examples of how IMM is being implemented in practice. Participants will also hear from guest speakers and have dedicated office hours for questions and deeper discussion.
Most importantly, you’re not learning frameworks in isolation. You’re applying them to your own organisation as you go.
Who is this for?
Impact investors and fund managers, DFI professionals, Foundation and family office leaders, MERL professionals, Corporate social investment leaders, Heads of impact and programmes, Social enterprise leaders, Intermediaries and ecosystem actors.
